CHURCH<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n<p align=\"center\">ESTABLISHED 1892<\/p>\n<p>Our history is a long history, a proud history, a history of stability and most of all faith in the all mighty God. We put God first in all we do.<\/p>\n<p>Mingo Hill was established in 1892.\u00a0 In 1891, the property and old building was given to the founding members and named Free Will Baptist Church- Colored in Sampson County, NC. \u00a0\u00a0In 1892, papers were filed to establish the church.\u00a0 Down through the years the name was changed to its present name.\u00a0 We started out on the hill that was behind the current church.<\/p>\n<p>The past pastors included Rev J.D. McKoy (1940\u2019s), Rev A.D. Herring (1950-1960) the vision began to build the current church.\u00a0 The members had plate sales, building fund programs toward the new church.\u00a0 Under the leadership of the late Bishop Clifford Rouse (1960-1985), the dream came true and we celebrated our first service in March 1965.\u00a0 What a celebration.\u00a0 Elder Elijah Newkirk served as interim pastor in 1985-1987.\u00a0 Elder George McIver served as pastor from 1987-1996 and during his leadership, we added the front porch, added a pastor study, and bought a church van.\u00a0 Elder William Frederick served as pastor from 1997-1999 until his illness forced him to retire.\u00a0 Under his leadership, a multi-purpose room was added and the baptismal pool. Under the leadership of Elder T.Z. McCrimmon (2000-2010), new pews were bought and the first 2 female deacons in the church history were ordained and first female trustee.\u00a0 Elder Marshal Blackmond served as pastor from 2011-2013. We have now transitioned to a new beginning under the pastoral leadership of the first female pastor \u2013 Elder Odetta Batts. \u00a0The church family is blessed to have a divinely ordained, God sent under \u2013shepherd to preach and teach the Good News of Jesus Christ \u2013 the Gospel.\u00a0 We are focused on reaching and winning souls for the up building of the Kingdom of God.\u00a0 Mingo Hill is truly committed to \u201cA New beginning \u2013 moving forward.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MINGO HILL O.F.W.B.
