Pastor
Bishop Wayne E. McKoy Sr. was born on January 28, 1958 in Erwin NC to the late Deacon Willie Lee and Lillie Maria McKoy. He attended public school in Harnett County and graduated from Lillington High School in 1976. He graduated from Justice Fellowship Bible College in May 2008 with an Associate’s Degree in Biblical Studies. He has also received certificates of completion from classes at the Conference Ministers Training Institute where he now serves as an instructor.
He has served in many capacities of the church. He served as a trustee and was ordained as a Deacon under the leadership of Bishop A. H. Hartsfield in 1985. He was called into the ministry in 2005 and preached his initial sermon March 12, 2006 under the leadership of his former pastor Elder Ernest Dunn. Pastor McKoy was ordained as an Elder in 2010 under the leadership of Bishop Reginald S. Hinton Sr. and served as an Associate Minister under Pastor Coleman Elliott until being elected as Pastor of Star of Hope Original Free Will Baptist Church in Sanford North Carolina.
Bishop McKoy was consecrated as bishop on December 02, 2017 under the leadership of Bishop Reginald S. Hinton Sr. and now serves as the Vice President of the Original Cape Fear and Southwestern Free Will Baptist Annual Conference under the leadership of the Presiding Prelate Bishop Frederick E. Clarida Sr.
He was joined in holy matrimony to the love of his life, Arlesia Ray on June 8, 1980 and have one daughter Yetara, and three sons Wayne Jr., Brandon, Paul, a daughter-in-law, Xsoa, three grandsons Marc, Lennox and Wayne III. First Lady Arlesia McKoy has been very supportive of her husband’s ministry and can always be found being his greatest spiritual cheerleader.
