Bishop Wayne E. McKoy, Sr.

Bishop Wayne E. McKoy Sr. was elected to serve as the Vice President of the Original Cape Fear and Southwestern Free Will Baptist Annual Conference during its historical 150th Annual session on November 11, 2017. He was consecrated as a Bishop on December 02, 2017 under the leadership of the Presiding Prelate Bishop Reginald S. Hinton Sr., and began his tenure as Vice President on December 16, 2017 under the leadership of the newly elected Presiding Prelate Bishop Frederick S. Clarida Sr.  Bishop McKoy has been an active member of the Cape Fear and Southwestern Free Will Baptist Annual Conference for over 40 years.

Bishop McKoy has served on the District Union, Annual Conference and General Conference levels.  He has a servant’s heart and believes that to be a great leader one must have a desire and a will to follow.  He is humbled to have been given the opportunity to serve the Original Cape Fear and Southwestern Free Will Baptist Annual Conference and feels privileged to serve under the leadership of Bishop Frederick Clarida Sr. In addition to serving as the under shepherd at Star of Hope Original Free Will Baptist  Church he is a retired Duke Energy employee of 37 years, as well as a retired United States Army Reservist with 22 years of service.

Bishop McKoy  and First Lady McKoy are the proud parents of  four children, 3 sons Wayne  Jr.,Brandon  , Paul , one daughter Tara, a daughter –in-law Xosa, grandsons, Marc, Lennox and Wayne III.  His extended family includes his mother, four brothers and one sister.
